Ascot Rum is a bull of moderate frame
score and is breeding early maturing animals. He
has been kept at Ascot for stud duties because of
his excellent attributes which include his polled
characteristic, muscling, coat type, rich color and
his overall structural correctness. His scrotal measurement
as a mature bull is 44cm.
Rum’s dam has an average frame score, smoothness
and a very desirable udder and teat presentation.
She has bred on consistently. His sire, Abernethy
Morgan has length and scale and is a dark color and
has bred this on in his stock.
Calves weaned by Rum are of a rich color, well muscled
and a good temperament. They are born small but are
quick to grow. These genetics have not been exported
into any overseas market before and are therefore
a new opportunity for breeders.
Rum was shown successfully for 3 years and as a
junior bull he won Grand Champion Bull at some shows
and as Senior Bull he was only beaten by his stable
mate Ascot Ark, the first bull by Ascot Noah, whose
semen has also been exported into South America.
